Nagahama to return to April convention

The organizers of Seattle's Sakura-Con convention announced in January that it will host M.D. Geist creator Kōichi Ōhata and Mushi-Shi director Hiroshi Nagahama at the April 18-20 convention in Seattle.

Ohata helmed the 1986 science-fiction original anime video series M.D. Geist. He also directed Burst Angel, Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny, Ikki Tōsen: Xtreme Xecutor and Maken-Ki! Battling Venus anime series. He worked as a mecha designer for Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, Gunbuster, Macross II and many other anime projects. This will be Ohata's first visit to Sakura-Con. He was previously scheduled as a guest in 2009 but had to cancel due to emergency surgery.

Nagahama is a returning guest to the Seattle convention. He has served as animation director for the Revolutionary Girl Utena anime series and directed the Mushi-Shi series and recent television special, as well as the Flowers of Evil anime.

English voice actors Todd Haberkorn, Leah Clark, and Patrick Seitz are also scheduled to attend the convention.
