MVM Acquires Arcana Famiglia

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Anime game adaptation about mysterious island.

MVM has told ANN that it has acquired the La storia della Arcana Famiglia television anime series. The anime adapts HuneX (VitaminX Addiction) and Comfort Soft's adventure game for female players. The story follows Arcana Famiglia, a self-appointed organization with mysterious powers that has protected a small Mediterranean island from pirates, foreign countries, and other threats. The only daughter of the family's "Papa," Felicitá, will be married to the next head of the family in two months — and the successor will be decided in a competition that Felicitá herself will take part in.

Chiaki Kon (When They Cry - Higurashi, Nodame Cantabile: Paris and Finale, Junjō Romantica) directed the series at J.C. Staff. Masanao Akahoshi (both Toaru Majutsu no Index series, Freezing) was in charge of the scripts, and Mai Matsuura (Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru) adapted from Yomi Sarachi's (Steins;Gate manga) original character designs for animation. The anime retained the cast from the original PSP game and tie-in drama CD project. Hitomi Harada sang the opening theme as she did for the original game, while voice cast members Jun Fukuyama (Liberta) and Tsubasa Yonaga (Nova) sang the anime's ending theme song.
