Strike Witches 'OVA's' Release & Story Outlined

posted on by Egan Loo
3 30-minute shorts depict members' lives between 2nd TV series and 2012 film

The official website for the Strike Witches anime franchises outlined the release format and story timeframe of the Strike Witches "OVA" project. The OVA stands for Operation Victory Arrow, and this operation is set in the period between the end of Operation Mars in the second television series and the 2012 Strike Witches movie. The three 30-minute short stories depict the lives of the members who returned to their respective homes.

To commemorate this new Strike Witches project, there will be special event screenings of the shorts in theaters. The first part of the Strike Witches: Operation Victory Arrow series will "commence operations" this fall.

The Strike Witches anime adapts Humikane Shimada's mecha-girl illustrations. The first season of the anime aired in 2008, while the second season aired in 2010. Crunchyroll streamed the second anime season as it aired in Japan, and Funimation released the first two seasons on DVD. In addition to the 2012 anime film, a third television anime series was announced last year.
