D.Backup Anime Slated for Theaters in 2015 by A-1 Pictures

The Anime Adaptation Prize Production Unveiling event at AnimeJapan announced this past weekend that the D.backup anime will play in theaters in 2015. Masashi Ishihama (From the New World, Kamichu!) is helming the anime at A-1 Pictures, and Fumihiko Shimo (Air, Clannad, Golden Time, Infinite Stratos) is serving as director and scriptwriter.
Physics Point, which consists of the creative duo Otono Shimura and Suyuri Hiraume, won 1 million yen (about US$10,000) and the opportunity to have their D.backup concept adapted into anime from Pony Canyon's first ever Anime-ka Taishō (Anime Adaptation Prize).
