Tokyo MX TV Sets Up Division to Produce Anime

Japanese television station Tokyo MX TV announced on Wednesday that as part of its company restructuring, it will open an "Anime Business Division" and a "Digital Contents Development Division" within the company. Tokyo MX intends to produce new anime properties within its own company. The new divisions will began operating on April 1, the beginning of Tokyo MX's fiscal year.
Tokyo MX has stated that the new anime business division will make it easier to integrate business related to anime, as well as create contents related to anime. It will also aim to step into the world of licensing.
The other new division will focus on developing digital contents, such as those for smartphones and tablets, digital signage, and Vocaloid.
