The series adapts Hidebu Takahashi's police manga Tokubō Asakura Sōhei, and Crunchyroll describes the story:

In a world that is crawling with vermin, crimes commited by ordinary people happen everyday. Food mislabelling, high school girls' compensated dating, businesses that exploit employees, one man will take them on despite the high frequency, Sōhei Asakura of the National Police Agency Special Defense Bureau, also known as S.D.B . S.D.B's goal is eliminate crimes that would usually go unchecked.

The series stars Tsuyoshi Ihara (Hatsukoi's Mishima Tadashi) as Sōhei Asakura, Yumi Adachi as Miyuki Kano, and Kōhei Matsushita as Keichi Tsuji. Takahashi ran her manga in Shueisha's Super Jump magazine from 2008 to 2010, and Shuiesha published eight book volumes.
