Story of beautiful female chorus teacher who instructs group aiming for national competition has film in the works

Taishi Mori (Kyō no Asuka Show) announced on Sunday on his official Twitter account that his Kuchibiru ni Uta o (A Song to Your Lips) manga will end in four chapters. Morita made the announcement a day after the Kyō no Asuka Show fan event that was held in celebration of the anime adaptation's Blu-ray release at the Animate Yokohama store. In his message, he also thanked fans of the Kyō no Asuka Show series for coming all the way to the event, which starred himself and voice actress Arisa Noto.

The story of Kuchibiru ni Uta o follows Kashiwagi, a stunningly beautiful, self-described NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) part-time teacher who went to a music college in Tokyo. Her old middle-school classmate Matsuyama is now the advisor for a middle school chorus club on Nagasaki Prefecture's Gotō Islands, but she has to go on maternity leave. Matsuyama asks Kashiwagi to take over the club for one year. The chorus club had only female members before, but the arrival of Kashiwagi suddenly attracts lots of boys, resulting in conflict among its ranks. Despite this, the club prepares for NCon, NHK's real-life nationwide school music competition, with its newly diverse roster.

Taishi began the manga in Shokakugan's Monthly Shonen Sunday (Gessan) magazine last year. The manga adapts of Eiichi Nakata's original novel. A film adaptation of the manga was announced last month.
