Suehiro Maruo's The Strange Tale of Panorama Island Manga Nominated for Eisner Award

The Heart of Thomas, The Mysterious Underground Men, Showa: A History of Japan, Summit of the Gods, Utsubora: The Story of a Novelist also nominated

The 2014 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards panel of judges has announced its nominees for the best works in the comic book industry on Tuesday. Suehiro Maruo's manga adaptation of Edogawa Rampo's The Strange Tale of Panorama Island, published by Last Gasp, received a nomination for Best Adaptation from Another Medium.

Five manga titles are vying for the Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia award:

Mike Richardson and Stan Sakai's 47 Ronin, published by Dark Horse, was also nominated in the Best Limited Series category.

The results in all categories will be announced in a gala awards ceremony on the evening of Friday, July 25 at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Last year's Eisner nominees included Katsuya Terada, Osamu Tezuka's Barbara, Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys, Shigeru Mizuki's NonNonBâ, and Mari Yamazaki's Thermae Romae.
