New School Days 3DS Game Island Days' Opening Streamed

"Romance/survival" game to be released on July 3

The opening video for Island Days, the newest title in the School Days visual novel series, began streaming on Wednesday. The video features the song "Paradise~Past Plus Parallel~" by Kyōko Aihara.

The "romance/survival" game will ship on July 3.

Overflow's School Days adult game inspired a 12-episode television anime series in 2007, and then two original video anime spinoffs in 2008. The story follows the love triangle that develops when a boy enlists his close female friend to help him attract the attention of a girl in their same school.

Overflow, the game label of the developer Stack and the creator of the original School Days game, had announced in 2012 that its Shiny Days title would be the final game the company would make. However, Klon is working on the new Island Days game with returning writer Meizazu Numakichi and character designer Junji Gotō.

The anime gained unexpected media attention when its final episode was preempted by a real-life axe murder in Japan. Instead of the final episode, the television stations aired a series of unrelated scenery images and the following text: "The programming has changed due to certain circumstances." The substituted boat scenery images led to the "nice boat" catchphrase that has spread throughout the overseas anime fandom and even into Japan.

Discotek announced it licensed School Days and School Days: Magical Heart Kokoro-chan original video anime spinoff in February.

JAST USA released the School Days HQ PC game in North America.
