Deadline Site: Jordan Vogt-Roberts in Talks to Helm Metal Gear Solid Film

Director of The Kings of Summer film, episodes of Mash Up & Death Valley
The Deadline website reported on Tuesday that Sony Pictures Entertainment is in preliminary talks with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts to helm the Metal Gear Solid live-action film. Vogt-Roberts previously directed The Kings of Summer film and episodes of Mash Up and Death Valley.
Game franchise creator Hideo Kojima confirmed that he will have a supervisory role. Avi Arad will produce the film with production president Michael De Luca.
Konami and Kojima announced new plans for a live-action Hollywood film adaptation of their Metal Gear Solid game franchise during the "Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Party" in 2012. Columbia Pictures will produce the film, and Sony Pictures Entertainment will produce and distribute.
