Crunchyroll Adds Akame ga Kill, DRAMAtical Murder, Blue Spring Ride TV Anime

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced at its Anime Expo panel on Saturday that it will stream the Akame ga Kill, DRAMAtical Murder, Sabagebu-Survival Game Club, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-Kun, and Blue Spring Ride television anime series.

Akame ga Kill! adapts the manga series written by Takahiro with art by Tetsuya Tashiro. The dark action fantasy manga follows the title character, Akame, a girl who was bought, and raised by the Empire as an assassin. After meeting Akame, a boy named Tatsumi vows to stand up to the evil of the corrupt Empire with the secret assassin group Night Raid and special weapons known as Teigu.

Tomoki Kobayashi (Tears to Tiara, sola) is directing the anime, and Makoto Uezu (Danganronpa The Animation, Qwaser of Stigmata) is in charge of the series scripts with original creator Takahiro supervising the scenario. Kazuhisa Nakamura (Jormungand) is designing the characters, and Taku Iwasaki (Black Butler, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Gatchaman Crowds) is composing the music.

The series will premiere on Monday at 9 a.m. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America.

DRAMAtical Murder is based Nitro+CHiRAL's boys-love adventure game. The game's story centers on a young man named Aoba who lives with his grandmother on the island Midorijima. He works at a junk shop in the island's Former Residents District after Toue builds the Platinum Jail resort on part of Midorijima and forces residents to move. Aoba is content with his simple life but gets pulled into mysterious events unfolding on the island.

Kazuya Miura (animation director or unit director on Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa, Silent Möbius, Kindaichi Shounen no Jiken) is directing the anime at the studio NAZ. Touko Machida (Allison & Lillia, The Idolm@ster, Hamatora, Karneval, Lucky Star) and the game's Kabura Fuchii (Togainu no Chi) of Nitroplus are in charge of the series scripts. Yukiko Ban (Brave10, .hack//SIGN, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi) is adapting the original character designs by honyalala of Nitroplus for animation. Yuuki Hayashi (Blood Lad, Diabolik Lovers, Gundam Build Fighters, Robotics;Notes, Soul Eater Not!) is composing the music, and the rock band GOATBED is contributing the opening theme song "Slip on the Pumps" after working on the game.

Crunchyroll will premiere the series on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The story of Hidekichi Matsumoto's original Sabagebu manga, which is running in Kodansha's Nakayoshi shojo magazine, revolves around Momoka Sonokawa, a girl who transferred into a certain girls' high school. The club she ended up joining at school was the "Sabagebu!," a club that conducts survival games.

Masahiko Ohta (Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily) is directing the anime from scripts by Takashi Aoshima (Kotoura-san) at Pierrot Plus (Beelzebub, Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee). Masashi Kudo is designing the characters.

The series will premiere on Sunday. Crunchyroll will announce its premiere date at a later time. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America.

Blue Spring Ride adapts a manga series by Io Sakisaka. The story revolves around Futaba, a girl who was in love with a boy named Kō Tanaka in middle school. However, after a misunderstanding, their relationship as friends ends when he transfers schools over summer vacation. In high school, her world is turned around once again when she meets Kō again, this time under the name of Kō Mabuchi.

Ai Yoshimura (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) is directing the series at Production I.G. and Tomoko Konparu (Kimi ni Todoke, Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000%, Sunday Without God,) is in charge of the scripts.

The series will premiere on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America.

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun's romantic comedy story begins when high school student Chiyo Sakura confesses her feelings to her classmate Nozaki. Due to a misunderstanding, Nozaki thinks Sakura is just a fan of his shōjo manga work. Sakura has to convey her true feelings while her relationship with Nozaki develops.

Mitsue Yamazaki (Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East) is directing the series, and Yoshiko Nakamura (Hiiro no Kakera - The Tamayori Princess Saga) is handling the scripts. Junichiro Taniguchi (Genshiken Second Season) is designing the characters. The series is being animated at studio Dogakobo.

The show will premiere on Sunday at 12:05 p.m.

Crunchyroll also announced at its panel that it will add back catalog episodes of One Piece, the original Great Teacher Onizuka television anime series, and Toradora in dubbed and subtitled formats. The One Piece back catalog episodes will resume on July 19.
