Viz's Shojo Beat Adds Hiro Fujiwara's Maid-sama!, Maki Minami's Komomo Confiserie Manga

Viz Media's Shojo Beat imprint announced on Monday that it licensed Hiro Fujiwara's Maid Sama! (Kaichō wa Maid-sama!) and Maki Minami's Komomo Confiserie manga series. The company plans to release the first volume of Komomo Confiserie in September 2015 followed by the first 2-in-1 volume of Maid Sama! in November 2015.
Fujiwara ended her Maid Sama! manga in LaLa last year. Fujiwara launched the manga in 2006, and Tokyopop published eight volumes of the manga before the company shut down its North American publishing division in 2011. Shojo Beat's release will include all new translations of the first eight volumes.
Shojo Beat describes the story:
As if being class president of a predominantly male high school wasn't hard enough, Misaki Ayuzawa has a major secret—she works at a maid café after school! How is she supposed to keep her image of being ultra smart, strong and overachieving intact once school heartthrob Takumi Usui discovers her double life?!
Fujiwara's manga inspired a 26-episiode television anime series from J.C. Staff in 2010, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on DVD in North America. The company is re-releasing the anime with an English dub in January.
Minami began the series in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine in 2013 and will end the series on December 5. Shojo Beat describes the series:
As a little girl, Komomo Ninomiya delighted in picking on Natsu Azumi, the son of her family's pastry chef. Ten years later, when the family fortune is lost and she has no place to live, Komomo encounters Natsu again in her hour of need. Now that Natsu is a master pastry chef in his own right, he'll help Komomo—but only if she works for him at his new confiserie!
Minami ended her Seiyū ka—! manga in the same magazine in 2013. Viz Media is publishing the series under the title Voice Over!: Seiyuu Academy, and the seventh volume shipped in North America last month.
Viz Media also published Minami's S.A (Special A) manga in North America. Special A inspired a television anime series in 2008 that Sentai Filmworks released in North America.
