Live-Action Cutie Honey Actress Eriko Satoh Announces Marriage, Pregnancy

33-year old Japanese actress Eriko Satoh announced on Saturday that she has married a 45-year old man outside of the show business industry, and that she is pregnant.

She noted that she received an engagement ring from her then-boyfriend a year and a half ago, and that both her and her husband wanted a child very much, and their prayers were finally answered when the doctor told her, "I think it's all right to announce [your pregnancy.]" She commented that after hearing these words, she felt like crying. The picture on the right is when she acted as a pregnant woman in a commercial for Hanshin Densha, and she remarked that she would be happy if her child's first acting role would be alongside her in another commercial for the same company.

The actress also noted that due to her pregnancy not yet being in its stable period, she thinks she will cause problems for people, but wants to continue work at her own pace. She also admitted that she had originally wanted to announce her marriage and pregnancy once the pregnancy was stable, but could not wait to announce the news to her fans, and decided to announce the news on January 31, which is also known as "beloved wife day" in Japan.

Satoh performed the role of the live-action Cutie Honey film's titular character, as well as Kaho in the Densha Otoko (Train Man) live-action series and Harumi in the live-action TV series adaptation of Cocco Kashiwaya's Divorce Living Together manga. She also voiced Junrei in the Saint Seiya: The Hades Chapter - Sanctuary original video animation (OVA.)
