19-year-old actress, model replaces Kaho as delinquent student Miyuki

The staff of the live-action film adaptation of Kiminori Wakasugi's All Esper Dayo! (Minna! Esper Dayo!) science-fiction comedy manga revealed on Saturday that 19-year-old Elaiza Ikeda (High School Debut, Zekkyō Gakkyū) will play the heroine Miyuki Hirano in the film. Kaho (Otomen) previously played the character in the live-action television series. Miyuki is a delinquent female high school student who is Yocchan's childhood friend and an esper.

The film will once again star Shōta Sometani (live-action xxxHOLiC, Parasyte) as Yoshirō "Yocchan" Kamogawa. Shion Sono (Suicide Circle, Himizu, Tokyo Tribe) is returning to direct the film, titled Eiga Minna! Esper Dayo! (Everyone! We're Espers! The Movie).

Other returning cast members include: Erina Mano as Sae Asami, Mikan Sports as Terumitsu Nagano, Motoki Fukami as Yōsuke Enomoto, Reiya Masaki as Naoya Yabe, Ken Yasuda as Takahiro Asami, and Megumi Kagurazaka as Takako Akiyama.

Filming is slated to start near the end of April. The film will open in Japan in September. Comic Natalie has posted images of the rest of the returning main cast in costume.

The first live-action drama adaptation of the manga premiered in April 2013 as a series of 12-minute episodes. A live-action spinoff television special titled Minna! Esper Dayo! Bangaihen ~Esper, Miyako e Iku~ (All Esper Dayo! Extra Edition ~The Esper Goes to the Capital~) aired in Japan on April 3.

The psychic comedy follows an ordinary (virgin) high school boy named Yoshirō "Yocchan" Kamogawa (Sometani). His life changes overnight when he wakes up with the ability to read other people's minds. Yoshirō is not the only one to gain powers in his town. Terumitsu Nagano (played by Mikata Sports), an (apparently virgin) worker at a café near Yoshirō's school, gains telekinesis — but he uses it for sex toys. Yōsuke Enomoto (played by Motoki Fukami), a (probably virgin) senior and former basketball player at Yoshirō's high school, gains teleportation — but only while naked.

Wakasugi launched the manga in Weekly Young Magazine in 2009, shortly before he ended the popular comedy Detroit Metal City the following year. Kodansha published the sixth compiled volume of Minna! Esper Dayo! in February 2014. Wakasugi is launching a new arc of the manga in Young Magazine this spring.
