'Bloodstained' Game by Castlevania's IGA Casts David Hayter

Xbox One/PS4/PC/Mac/Linux game also unlocks higher difficulty mode in Kickstarter campaign

The Kickstarter fundraising campaign for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the new game by former Castlevania producer Koji "IGA" Igarashi, has met its fourth stretch goal of US$850,000 within seven hours of launching on Monday. The creators now plan to cast voice actor David Hayter (Metal Gear Solid's Snake). They also posted an art piece to celebrate meeting the initial goal for funding:

The campaign already met its first three stretch goals to upgrade the included artbook to hardcover (US$600,000), to add a second playable character (US$700,000), and to add a higher difficulty mode (US$800,000). The creators aim to release the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam (for Windows, Mac, and Linux). Igarashi stated that he has partners that will provide further funding if the demand is proven.

As of press time the project has earned US$873,468 with 32 days remaining.

Bloodstained -Ritual of the Night- will be an "action-adventure game in the gothic horror style." The game will offer single-player, collaborative, and versus modes. The Kickstarter describes the game:

You are Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes your skin. You must battle your way through a demon-filled castle summoned by Gebel, your old friend whose body has become more crystal than flesh.

Igarashi (Castlevania, Tokimeki Memorial) will helm the game, and Michiru Yamane (Skullgirls) and Ippō Yamada (Mega Man) will serve as sound producers and composers. Igarashi left Konami to form his own development studio last year.

Update: The campaign has now reached new goals for cheat codes (US$1,000,000) and local co-op play (US$1,250,000).
