Fafner Exodus 2nd Season's Promo Video Reveals October Premiere

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Staff confirmed in April series would continue beyond 13 episodes

The official website for the Fafner EXODUS television anime series began streaming a promotional video on Sunday for the second season of the series. The second half of the show will premiere in October on MBS' "Animeism" programming block.

The show's staff had confirmed in April that the show would continue beyond 13 episodes, and noted that more details about the continuation would be announced at the "Special Event -Itami-" (Pain) event on Sunday.

The official website has also revealed a new key visual.

XEBEC zwei had said in 2013 that the sequel will be a 26-episode television series. However, in November 2014 the official website for the series had listed six Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes with 13 episodes on them.

The sequel television anime is set in the year 2151, two and a half years after the film Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth. The 10th-anniversary project reunites the main staff from the first Fafner television series, including director Nobuyoshi Habara at XEBEC zwei and Xebec. Tow Ubukata is writing the project, and King Records' Gou Nakanishi is a producer.

Crunchyroll streamed the first half of the sequel series in various countries as it aired. The first half premiered on January 8 and ended in April.

Update: King Records made the video private and the company uploaded a new video with the same contents. The old video has been replaced.
