North American manga publisher Vertical announced at Anime Expo on Thursday that it has licensed the following books: Sushi Chef Sukiyabashi Jiro (Sukiyabashi Jirō Jun o Nigiru), the Nichijō and FukuFuku: Kitten Tales (Fuku Fuku Funyan Koneko da Nyan) manga, and the Attack on Titan: Lost Girls novel spinoff.

Sushi Chef Sukiyabashi Jiro (Sukiyabashi Jirō Jun o Nigiru) is an illustrated non-fiction book written by Shinzo Satomi and acclaimed sushi chef Jiro Ono, the subject of David Gelb's 2011 documentary film Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Vertical will release the 240-page book hard-cover book in Spring 2016 for US$24.95. The company will also release the book in eBook format.

Vertical will release the first volume of Keiichi Arawi's Nichijō manga in spring 2016. The book volume will contain 200 pages and will be priced at US$10.95. The comedy manga revolves around a group of female students living what would be a normal high school life, except that it also includes a talking cat, a robot, deer-wrestling, and other strange anomalies. The manga was adapted into a TV anime in 2011, which Crunchyroll streamed as it aired in Japan. Bandai Entertainment licensed the series for home video before it ceased offering new releases, and cancelled the home video release of Nichijō. Digital manga platform JManga also published the first four volumes of the manga before it shut down in 2012.

Vertical will release Hajime Iseyama and Hiroshi Seko's (Attack on Titan scripts, Seraph of the End) Attack on Titan: Lost Girls novel spinoff in summer 2016. The novel will contain 220 pages and will be priced at US$14.95. The novel collects three short stories centered around Mikasa and Annie titled, "Lost in the cruel world," "Wall Sina, Goodbye," and "Lost Girls." Vertical has licensed several other novels based on the Attack on Titan series.

Vertical will release the first volume of Kanata Konami's (Chi's Sweet Home) FukuFuku: Kitten Tales (Fuku Fuku Funyan Koneko da Nyan) manga in spring 2016. The book volume will contain 180 pages and will be priced at US$10.95. The series is a spinoff of Konami's Fuku Fuku Funyan manga. Kodansha published the second compiled book volume of the manga in Japan on June 12.
