Live-Action Forget Me Not Show Reveals New Cast, Song, Debut Date

Yurina Yanagi, Itsuka Sagara, Erika Okuda, Izumi Fujimoto star in series inspired by Taiwanese novel

The October issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine is revealing additional cast, the theme song artist, and the September 28 premiere date of the Japanese live-action television series of Mag Hsu's Taiwanese novel Mǎzimen on Wednesday.

The series' additional cast includes:

  • Yurina Yanagi as Ermes (above, left)
  • Itsuki Sagara as Tsukushi Makino (above, right)
  • Erika Okuda as Sam-soon (below, left)
  • Izumi Fujimoto as "Mysterious Nurse" (below, right)

Fujimoto's character does not appear in the novel's manga adaptation. The cast will join Keisuke Koide (Gokusen, Nodame Cantabile live-action series), who will play the protagonist Serizawa.

Pop group Cross Gene will contribute their song "sHi-tai!" as the series' theme song. The series will premiere on September 28 on Fuji TV, and will air for four consecutive nights.

Hsu's novel inspired Nao Emoto's Forget Me Not (Soredemo Boku wa Kimi ga Suki) manga in 2013. Emoto launched the manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in December 2013, and then switched the series to Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2014. Kodansha published the fifth compiled volume in July.

North American manga publisher Kodansha Comics announced in July that it licensed the manga and plans to release the first volume in English in March 2016.

Kodansha Comics describes the manga as follows:

Serizawa was walking home from work one day when he was struck by a truck. Woozy and injured, he remembers a woman taking him to safety. It was someone he recognized… but who? It's a romance manga with a dose of mystery!
