Chibi Maruko-chan, Sazae-san, Dr. Slump Top List of Most-Viewed Anime Episodes

Shows with highest household ratings since 1977 listed
Television ratings group Video Research published the top 10 most-viewed anime series based on the episode with the highest household rating since the group began online research on September 26, 1977. To qualify for the ratings a show must be a regular series with episodes that run for 15 minutes or longer.

Video Research previously recorded an episode of the original 1963-1966 Astro Boy anime that earned a 40.3% rating. Other high-rating episodes from before Video Research began online research on September 26, 1977 include Obake no Q-Taro, Kyojin no Hoshi, and Pāman.
