Penang Anime Matsuri Announces Musical Guest Lineup

LiSA, GARNiDELiA, motsu x DJ Kaya, and DJ YURiA announced for May 21-22 event

Anime Festival Asia announced that its Penang Anime Matsuri convention will host LiSA, GARNiDELiA, motsu x DJ Kaya, and DJ YURiA as musical guests.

LiSA has sung theme songs for such anime as Angel Beats!, Fate/Zero, and Sword Art Online. Her eighth single, "Rally go Round," served as the opening theme song for the Nisekoi: TV anime series. Aniplex released her latest album Launcher on in March 2015, and it ranked third in the weekly Oricon album charts in its opening week.

GARNiDELiA is comprised of Mai Mizuhashi (Maria) and Yoshinori Abe (Toku). The duo first worked together on "Color," the opening theme song of the Freezing anime, although they had not yet made the GARNiDELiA unit name at that point. The duo formally debuted in 2014 with their single "Ambiguous," which was used as the opening theme for the Kill la Kill anime. The group has since released six singles, two albums, and two mini-albums, and has performed theme songs for such anime as The irregular at magic high school, Gundam: Reconguista in G, and Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation.

motsu and DJ Kaya commonly collaborate for anime events, and have made multiple appearances at Anime Festival Asia. The pair have held concerts in Sweden, Singapore, Brazil, and Peru.

DJ YURiA began her career as a DJ in 2011, when she founded her party brand House Nation. She has worked as a DJ at many events in Japan and across Asia, has also performed as a singer and dancer, and has made appearances on Japanese television and radio, and in magazines.

The Penang Anime Matsuri event will take place on May 21 and 22 at Dewan Sri Pinang and the Penang Esplanade.
