Anime Expo to Host Monster Musume Creator Okayado

BookWalker and Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Thursday that Monster Musume and 12 Beast manga creator OKAYADO will attend Los Angeles anime convention Anime Expo as a special guest of BookWalker Global. OKAYADO will appear at a spotlight panel on Saturday, June 2 at 11:45 a.m. PDT, and will also hold signings.
OKAYADO first published "Monster Musume" in Tokuma Shoten's Comic Ryū's Anthology Comic Kemomo 02 in 2011, and debuted the Monster Musume series in Comic Ryū in 2012. The series inspired an anime adaptation last summer. Seven Seas publishes Monster Musume and OKAYADO's other series 12 Beast, which he began after Monster Musume.
Anime Expo will celebrate its 25th anniversary at its convention this year from July 1-4. The convention will also host Vampire Hunter D and Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano; Your Lie in April manga creator Naoshi Arakawa; singer Michi; voice actress Chika Anzai; Anju Inami Rikako Aida, Nanaka Suwa, Arisa Komiya, Kanako Takatsuki, and Ai Furihata from the Love Live! Sunshine!! idol group Aqours; One-Punch Man anime director Shingo Natsume, voice actor Makoto Furukawa (Saitama) and opening theme song performers JAM Project. Other musical guests include Eir Aoi, Luna Haruna, Minami, Sphere, T.M. Revolution, Yoko Ishida, DJ Kazu, FLOW, and OLDCODEX.
