Brave10's Kairi Shimotsuki Launches Ayakashi Parade Game Manga

New series about yōkai centers on basketball team that always loses

The July issue of Kodakawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine revealed on Wednesday that Brave10's Kairi Shimotsuki will launch a new manga series tentatively titled Ayakashi Parade Game in the magazine's August issue when it ships on July 15. The first chapter will include a center color image.

The series will involve yōkai (Japanese spirits and ghouls), and will center on the members of a basketball team known as the "Hiroe Industry of 5 Fouls" who always lose.

The August issue will also start serialization on You Ibuki's (Magical Warfare manga artist) Game Overdose manga (pictured with green background in image below), Matsuri's Bakemono no Yawazukushi (Monster Night Stories of All Kinds) manga (pictured in black and white in image below), and Visual Works and Amino Yuki's Namu Amida Butsu! (Amen Amitābha Buddha!) manga (picture far right in image below).

Shimotsuki had launched the Brave10 Tawamure spinoff series in the same magazine's July issue on Wednesday. Shimotsuki's Brave10 S series ended in March, and Kadokawa published the ninth compiled volume on March 26. Shimotsuki launched Brave10 S, the continuation of her original Brave10 manga, in the first issue of Monthly Comic Gene in 2011.

The original manga inspired a television anime in 2012, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. NIS America released a Blu-ray Disc box of Brave10 in 2013.

North American publisher Digital Manga Publishing licensed Shimotsuki's A Century of Temptation manga and published it in 2013. Tokyopop published Shimotsuki's Madness manga in 2009, and Udon Entertainment published her Devil Kings Basara manga in 2008.
