MUCC, Alisa Takigawa Perform Themes for 4-Episode Seven Deadly Sins Anime

Manga's 1st volume has more than 1 million copies in print

This year's 30th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced on Wednesday that MUCC (The File of Young Kindaichi Returns, Meganebu!) and Alisa Takigawa (The Seven Deadly Sins, Owarimonogatari) will perform the opening and ending theme songs, respectively, for the upcoming four-episode Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi (The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of holy war) television anime special.

The magazine also announced that first volume of Nakaba Suzuki's original manga has more than 1 million copies in print.

The special will premiere on August 28 on MBS and TBS.

The anime's staff had announced in October that production on a new television anime series was green-lit for this year. The original announcement of the new television anime series had stated that the new series would feature the same staff, but the official website lists a different staff for the special. The staff has not specified if the announcement last October was for this four-week special.

Original manga author Nakaba Suzuki is writing a brand new story for the special.

The first television anime of the manga premiered in Japan in October 2014, and ended with 24 episodes. The manga also bundled two original video anime projects last summer.
