Hero TV to Air Starmyu, Umaru-chan, Sets Dragon Collection Premiere

STARMYU premieres on Tuesday, Umaru-chan on August 11, Dragon Collection on August 22

Philippine television channel HERO TV revealed on Sunday that it will air the STARMYU and Himouto! Umaruchan anime, and set the premiere date for its airing of the Dragon Collection anime.

STARMYU will premiere on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The anime with an original plan by Rin Hinata is a slapstick teen comedy about high school students "who sparkle like stars." The story starts when Yūta Hoshiya enters Ayana Academy, a school focusing on show business activities, specifically music. The academy has a group of the three students with the highest grades in the musical department, and they are known as the Kao Kai (Cherry Blossom Flower Association). This organization stands at the top of the pecking order within the academy.

The shortcut to entering the musical department is to enter the Star Frame class, which is directly taught by the members, and to be recognized by them. Unfortunately, due to their own problems, students Tōru, Kaito, Shō, Shū, and Yūta are all struggling to even remain candidates for the musical department. By a stroke of luck, however, the five are spotted by Kao Kai member Ōtori, and they pique his interest.

The anime premiered in Japan last October, and it will receive a second season.

Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko's Basketball, Prince of Tennis) directed the series at C-Station (Dragonar Academy), and Sayaka Harada was in charge of the series scripts. Asami Watanabe designed the characters, and Tadako (Arashi's "Love so sweet," "Monster") was responsible for the dance sequences.

NBC Universal announced a two-part original video anime (OVA) project, the first of which shipped on July 27. The second will ship on September 21. The OVAs will serve as episode 13 and 14 of the first season, respectively.

Himouto! Umaruchan will premiere on August 11 at 6:30 p.m.

The anime adapts Sankaku Head's manga of the same name. The sibling gag comedy manga centers around Umaru (voiced by Aimi Tanaka), Taihei's (Kenji Nojima) little sister who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports. However, she has a certain secret. "Himōto" is a pun on "imōto" (little sister) and "himono," which means "dried fish," but in slang can refer to a woman who is proper in public but lazy at home.

The anime premiered in Japan in July 2015.

Masahiko Ohta (Yuruyuri, Kotoura-san) directed the series off scripts by Takashi Aoshima (Yuruyuri, Kotoura-san) at Dogakobo (Engaged to the Unidentified, Laughing Under the Clouds). Yasunori Ebina (Yuruyuri, Fruits Basket) served as sound director and Aya Takano (Polar Bear's Café) designed the characters and served as chief animation director.

Dragon Collection will premiere on August 22 at 6:00 p.m.

Dragon Collection centers on Hiro Enryu, a boy who enters the world of the Dragon Collection game. There, he finds about Dracolle Battlers, who wander in the world of Dragon Earth bearing magical books called Grimoires that allow them to summon monsters and aid in finding treasures. There, Hiro becomes a Dracolle Battler himself, and embarks on a quest alongside newfound friends to become the Dragon Master.

The series premiered in April 2014. Konami's social game Dragon Collection debuted on the GREE mobile phone platform in Japan in 2010, and it already inspired Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Kyōta Shibano's Dragon Collection: Ryū o Suberu Mono manga from 2011 to 2012. The game also spawned a trading card arcade game in 2013.
