Convention will screen films on September 18

Southeast Asian convention Anime Festival Asia announced last Sunday that it will screen the Indonesian debut of the first two Kizumonogatari films and the Zutto Mae Kara Suki Deshita: Kokuhaku Jikkō Iinkai anime film on September 18.

The Kizumonogatari films adapt NisiOisin's novel of the same name. The novel is the third volume in his Monogatari Series of novels and is a prequel to Bakemonogatari. The novel tells the story of how protagonist Koyomi encounters Shinobu, the female vampire that would turn him, and his journey to return to his normal life.

The films are planned as a trilogy. The first film, Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu, opened in Japan on January 8. The second film, Kizumonogatari Part 2: Nekketsu, opened in Japan on August 19. The third and final film, Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen, will open in Japan on January 6, 2017.

Akiyuki Simbo is once again credited as chief director for the film trilogy at the anime studio SHAFT. Akio Watanabe and Hideyuki Morioka are designing the characters. Yota Tsuruoka is directing the sound, and Satoru Kousaki is composing the music. Tatsuya Oishi is the director.

The "Kokuhaku Jikkō Iinkai ~Renai Series~" anime project adapts the stories of Vocaloid songs by HoneyWorks, centering around such popular songs as "Kokuhaku Yokō Renshū" (Confession Rehearsal), "Hatsukoi no Ehon" (The Picture Book of the First Love), and "Yakimochi no Kotae" (The Answer to Jealousy).

The Zutto Mae Kara Suki Deshita: Kokuhaku Jikkō Iinkai film is the first film based on the songs, and it opened in Japan on April 23.

Tetsuya Yanagisawa (High School DxD, Blade Dance of the Elementalers) directed the film at Qualia Animation off scripts by Yoshimi Narita (HappinessCharge PreCure!, Beet the Vandel Buster). Maki Fujii (Blade Dance of the Elementalers, Pupa) served as character designer and chief animation director.

The project is getting a second film titled Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan o: Kokuhaku Jikkō Iinkai on December 17.

HoneyWorks contributed theme songs in the Brothers Conflict and Tokyo Ravens television anime. Chico with Honeyworks, the group's collaboration with vocalist Chico, contributed theme songs for Blue Spring Ride, Magic Kaito 1412, and Gintama.

Other convention guests include Yōhei Azakami, Chika Anzai, Atsumi Tanezaki, Nozomi Furuki, and Takaaki Suzuki. The musical acts for the Indonesia convention include Aimer, bless4, Eir Aoi, Elisa, Lia, livetune+, Maaya Uchida, and nano. AFA Indonesia will take place on September 16-18 at the Jakarta International Expo.
