This year's 52nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that Akitsugu Mizumoto's Gourmet Gakuen Toriko spinoff manga series will end in Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine's January issue on December 2.
Mizumoto launched the manga in Saikyō Jump's first issue in 2010. Shueisha published the manga's seventh volume (pictured at right) on July 3, 2015. Shueisha will publish the eighth volume on December 2, and the ninth volume on December 31.
The manga follows Komatsu, an aspiring chef who transfers into the best gourmet school in the world. With a band of delinquents led by gourmet-loving Toriko, Komatsu lives a life full of gourmet adventures. The group continues to go all out in pursuit of a new type of gourmet.
The series is a spinoff of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko manga, which ended in the 50th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on November 21. Viz Media published new chapters of the manga digitally simultaneously with the Japanese release in its digital English version of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and will continue to release the manga in print in North America.
