Oboreru Knife, Boku to Kimi no Taisetsu na Hanashi English releases slated for next week

Kodansha Comics is listing digital releases of the first volumes of George Asakura's Drowning Love (Oboreru Knife) and Robico's Our Precious Conversations (Boku to Kimi no Taisetsu na Hanashi) manga for May 16.

Drowning Love tells the story of Natsume, a sixth-grade girl who has to move from Tokyo to a decidedly different town in the countryside. Upon meeting a boy named Kōichirō there, "something" stirs inside her. The story depicts a "teen heart on the brink of ruin."

Asakura (A Perfect Day for Love Letters) started the series in Bessatsu Friend in 2004, and Kodansha published the 17th and final volume in 2013. The manga inspired a spinoff manga titled Oboreru Knife: Yūgyo no Shizuku Iwa no Yume in 2012 and a live-action film in November 2016.

Kodansha describes Our Precious Conversations:

Nozomi Aizawa has has kept her feelings for her schoolmate Azuma-kun a secret for quite a while, but the time has come for her to finally confess. His response, though, is far from ordinary! Led in circles by his hilarious tangents, these two awkward teenagers find themselves growing ever closer while muddling through misunderstandings and off-topic rants. When the airheaded stalker Aizawa-san finally connects with the petulant know-it-all Azuma-kun, the result is a romantic comedy worth talking about!

Robico (My Little Monster) launched the ongoing series in Kodansha's Dessert magazine in August 2015, and Kodansha published the second compiled volume on March 13. The series ranked among the top 10 series for female readers in the 2017 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook
