Shout! Factory to Release Halo Legends Anime Anthology on Home Video

posted on by Karen Ressler
Warner Bros. released anthology in 2010

Shout! Factory announced on Tuesday that it will release the Halo Legends anime anthology series for home entertainment in North America. The company also announced that it has the home entertainment license for Microsoft's Halo feature films. It has not yet announced release dates.

The seven side stories are based on Microsoft Studios' Halo game franchise. Several Japanese studios — including Studio 4°C, BONES, Production I.G, Toei Animation, Bee Train, and Casio Entertainment — produced the films. The staff includes creative supervisors Aramaki and Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell); directors Aramaki, Hideki Futamura (Limit Cycle), Daisuke Nishio (Dragon Ball Z), Hiroshi Yamazaki (Karas episode director), Toshiyuki Kanno (Black Lagoon animation director), Kōichi Mashimo (Blade of the Immortal) and Kōji Sawai (.hack//Legend of the Twilight); directors/action designers Tomoki Kyoda (Eureka Seven) and Yasushi Muraki (Blue Gender: The Warrior animation director); and writer Dai Sato (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex).

Warner Brothers originally released the anthology on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and digital distribution in 2010. Seraphim Studios, the company formed from the assets of A.D. Vision's Amusement Park Media dubbing outfit, produced the English-language soundtrack.
