Fire Emblem Warriors Switch Game Details 1st 4 Characters, Story

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Game centers on original characters Liane, Shion

The official website for the Fire Emblem Warriors (Fire Emblem Musou) Nintendo 3DS and Switch game revealed details about four of the game's characters and the game's story on Thursday.

Marth (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa), the first prince of Altea. From the Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light game. He is without extravagance and does not discriminate between people. He thinks of his friends before himself, and he shows his true strength in times of chaos.

Chrom (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), the first prince of Ylisse. From the Fire Emblem Awakening game. He is a gifted swordsman, and leads the Shepherds to protect his country, despite being a noble. He has a frank and humble personality, which belies his princely origins.

Liane (voiced by Maaya Uchida), a princess of Aitriss and the older twin sister of Shion. Thoughts of her country are always in the forefront of her mind, and she acts strong for the sake of those around her.

Shion (voiced by Yūma Uchida), a prince of Aitriss and the younger twin brother of Liane. He is energetic and optimistic, never looking before he leaps.

The game's story begins when, without warning, the Kingdom of Aitriss is enveloped in darkness, and an otherworldly gate appears within the castle. Powerful creatures overpower the castle guards. The castle soon falls, and the darkness slowly but surely encroaches upon the Kingdom. But there is hope, in the form of Shion and Liane, the prince and princess who escaped even as the castle burned. They possess a thread that ties together the destiny of heroes. Bearing the Shield of Fire granted to them by their mother, their journey to confront the powerful darkness begins.

The game is slated for release in Japan this fall, and in the West this holiday season.

Koei Tecmo Games, its Omega Force team, and its Team Ninja team are developing the game. Omega Force is a subsidiary of Koei Tecmo, and it develops Koei Tecmo's Musou (Warriors) series of games. The series is known for its action hack-and-slash gameplay where players control a character to fight hundreds of enemies at once.

Intelligent Systems' first Fire Emblem game launched in 1990 and spawned a series of tactical role-playing games. The Fire Emblem Fates games, the latest installments in the series, launched in Japan in June 2015 and in North America in February 2016. The Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia game, a remake of the 1992 Fire Emblem Gaiden game, shipped for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 20 and in North America and Europe on May 19.
