posted on by Anita Tai
New horror manga will also have digital spinoff

The June issue of Akita Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Champion magazine published the final chapter of Shingo Honda's Hakaijū manga on Tuesday. The chapter features a colored illustration for the cover of the magazine and colored opening pages.

The same issue announced that Honda is launching a new series in the October issue on September 6. The series will be titled Saiko. An image accompanying the announcement features a girl with a smartphone and a hand reaching out from it. A spinoff of the new series will also serialize on the LINE Manga app.

Honda launched Hakaijū in Akita Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Champion magazine in 2010. Akita Shoten published the 20th compiled volume on March 8. The manga revolves around a high school student who loses consciousness after an earthquake. When he wakes up, his fellow students have been killed by monsters who have suddenly appeared. The series inspired a live-action short in 2012.
