Show By Rock!! Franchise Gets New Project

Sanrio announced at a Show By Rock!! concert event in Saitama prefecture on Sunday that the Show By Rock!! franchise is getting a new project. Sanrio didn't reveal any more details about the project at the event.
The franchise will host five events in five cities in Japan in August. The "'3969' Summer Fes. 2017" events will be held in Fukuoka on August 5, in Osaka on August 8, in Nagoya on August 9, in Sendai on August 13, and in Tokyo on August 31. Sanrio is hosting the events to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the franchise.
Sanrio began distributing the Show By Rock!! game developed by geechs for iOS and Android in 2012.
The first Show By Rock!! television anime series premiered in April 2015, and Funimation streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Funimation then released the series on home video in December. A series of spinoff shorts, Show By Rock!! Short!!, debuted in July 2016, and Funimation streamed the series as it aired.
The second anime season, Show By Rock!!#, premiered in October, and both Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the series as it aired.
The franchise has also inspired two musicals. The first musical, Show By Rock!! Musical ~Tonaeru Kachikudomo! Crimson Falldown Revolution Apocalypse~, ran in Tokyo from February 11-16. Live Musical "SHOW BY ROCK!!" ~THE FES II-Thousand XVII~ ran in Tokyo from May 11-13.
