'Important Announcement' For Gurren Lagann is 2 New Blu-ray Box Sets in Japan

The official Twitter account for the Gurren Lagann franchise revealed on Wednesday that the anime is getting two Blu-ray Disc box sets in Japan to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the anime. The Twitter account had teased on Monday that the anime would have an "important announcement" on Wednesday.
The first new box set will include six discs with all 27 episodes of the anime series and both "Parallel Works" anime. The set retails for 28,000 yen (about US$247). The second Blu-ray Disc box will include the Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars films in a two-disc set. The set retails for 8,000 yen (about US$70). Both box sets will ship in Japan on November 22.
The television anime's rebroadcast in Japan began on Tokyo MX and BS11 on Wednesday.
Aniplex of America will release a Blu-ray Disc box set of the Gurren Lagann television anime series and the Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars films on August 8. The release marks the show's 10th anniversary.
The 27-episode Gurren Lagann television anime series premiered in April 2007. The Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- film opened in September 2008, and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars opened in April 2009.
