Otaku Expo Reload Organizer Dennis Uy Responds to Georgette Anne Inaba's Claims

Organizer claims that original agreement stated that Inaba will shoulder costs

Otaku Expo Reload organizer Dennis Uy replied on Monday to actor Ryōsuke Kaizu and his wife Georgette Anne Inaba's allegations last week regarding Otaku Expo Reload's allegedly unpaid talent fees and, airfare, and hotel accommodation fees for the guests. Uy claims that his agreement with Inaba only extended to the booths, a place to conduct the meet-and-greet session, stage time, space to sell passes for the meet-and-greet, a place where attendees can claim passes, and print photos. He insists that his agreement with Inaba did not cover the costs and talent fee, as he was assured that Inaba would supposedly shoulder those costs herself.

Uy also noted that while he currently has payables to Inaba, those are for a past event in April, and is not related to Otaku Expo Reload.

Uy insists that all sales from the meet-and-greet session were deposited directly to Inaba and TokuSpirits, and that Uy and his staff never had any participation in delivering these sales. He also claims that his agreement was only with Inaba and TokuSpirits, and that TokuSpirits brought the other guests, and thus has a responsibility to answer their concerns. Uy denies any involvement with the other guests.

Uy also categorically denies sending Inaba, her family, or TokuSpirits any death threats.

Ryōsuke Kaizu previously posted the allegations on his Facebook page last week, and also claimed that he would discourage and forewarn Japanese talent, singers, and animators from any events related to Dennis Uy.

TokuSpirits began as an event in 2016 managed by Ryōsuke Kaizu and his wife Georgette Anne Inaba to support charity organizations. The first event last year took place in San Fernando City, Pampanga for the benefit of the Kids Cancer Vibe local organization. This year's event was a joint event held by both TokuSpirits and Otaku Expo, and took place on August 12-13 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
