Dissidia Final Fantasy NT PS4 Game's Opening Movie, Noctis Cut Scene Streamed

posted on by Karen Ressler
Japanese DLC bonus trailer also streamed

Sony began streaming the opening movie for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, the PlayStation 4 version of the Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade game, on Tuesday.

In addition, Sony began streaming a cut scene showing Final Fantasy XV's Noctis entering the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT world. He is greeted by Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII) and the Warrior of Light (Final Fantasy).

The game will ship in Japan on January 11 and in North America on January 30, 2018. Square Enix will release four editions in North America. The launch edition will come with the game, mini soundtrack, and Nameless Warrior DLC. The digital deluxe edition will include these bonuses and a season pass for other DLC including six additional playable characters and weapons for each. The SteelBook Case Brawler Edition includes three Final Fantasy trading cards and one of three SteelBook designs (randomly selected). Finally, the Ultimate Collector's Edition includes the trading cards, a different exclusive SteelBook, the DLC season pass, collector's box, soundtrack, 84-page art book, and 8.25-inch Warrior of Light bust.

Square Enix's Japanese YouTube channel began streaming a video showing the bonus DLC, starting with the Nameless Warrior (an alternate form of the Warrior of Light). It also shows a nail bat for Cloud (early download edition bonus), formal wear for Noctis (Loppi/HMV store exclusive), and a claymore weapon for Garland (Square Enix e-Store exclusive).

The game features a 3 vs. 3 battle system, 28 heroes and villains, and 14 stages. The game also includes a summons gauge that players can use to summon Ifrit and other popular Final Fantasy summons when the gauge is full. Koei Tecmo Games' Team Ninja (Dead or Alive series) developed the arcade game, which uses technology from a PlayStation 4 core system instead of a dedicated arcade circuit board.

Dissidia Final Fantasy launched in Japanese arcades in November 2015. Square Enix also released Dissidia Final Fantasy, a PlayStation Portable fighting game featuring Final Fantasy heroes and villains, in 2008 in Japan, and in 2009 in other parts of the world. The company then released the Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy sequel in 2011 for the PSP with new characters, stages, and story.

Square Enix launched the Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia game on smartphones on February 1 after a delay.
