Elex Media Licenses That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Manga

Indonesian publisher Elex Media announced on Thursday that it has licensed Taiki Kawakami's That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) manga. The company will release the manga's first volume on January 10.
The manga centers on 37-year-old Satoru Mikami, a salaryman who lives alone, has never had a girlfriend, and has a generally unremarkable life. When he encounters a robber who ends up killing him, he wakes up in a fantasy world as a slime, a common low-level monster in video games. With no way to communicate conventionally, Satoru must resort to creative means to survive and make his way around his new world.
The manga adapts Fuse and Mitz Vah's light novel series of the same name. Kawakami launched the manga in Kodansha's Shonen Sirius magazine in March 2015. Kodansha published the manga's sixth compiled book volume on December 8.
Fuse and Mitz Vah launched the original light novel series in 2014, and released the 11th volume on December 8. The novel series was ranked #8 and #6 in the respective 2017 and 2018 editions of Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebooks.
