Ro-Kyu-Bu! Manga's Yūki Takami Launches Tenka Hyakken Manga

Manga creators Yūki Takami and Ketsuyuki Tamon launched two separate manga adaptations of Dengeki G's Magazine's Tenka Hyakken franchise in the February issue of Kadokawa's Dengeki G's Comic magazine on December 27. Takami's manga is titled Tenka Hyakken -Sai- (Tenka Hyakken -Color-), while Tamon's manga is titled Tenka Hyakken -Shun- (Tenka Hyakken -Moment-), and is labeled as a "pre-comic." Both manga feature on the magazine's front cover (seen right).
The franchise centers around sword maidens called the "Mitsurugi," who are physical incarnations of ancient swords. They have pledged to live peaceful lives after the era of warfare, but are now returning to battle to fight a new foe that has arisen during an alternate version of the Meiji Era, three hundred years after the Battle of Sekigahara.
A previous manga adaptation by Homare Sakazuki launched in Dengeki G's Comic in 2016, and ended in May 2017. Kadokawa published the manga's one compiled book volume last October.
A smartphone game titled Tenka Hyakken -Zan- launched for iOS and Android devices in April 2017. The franchise features character designs from such illustrators as Humikane Shimada, Coffee Kizoku, Ei'ichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, and others.
Yūki Takami previously drew the manga adaptation of Sagu Aoyama's Ro-Kyu-Bu! light novels. The manga launched in Dengeki G's Magazine, and moved to Dengeki G's Comic before it ended in 2017. The manga has 12 compiled book volumes.
