New Gegege no Kitarō Anime Announced for Dragon Ball Super's Timeslot (Update)

Toei Animation announced with a video on Friday that a new television anime based on Shigeru Mizuki's GeGeGe no Kitarō manga will premiere on Fuji TV at 9:00 a.m. on on Sunday April 1. The timeslot is currently occupied by Dragon Ball Super — Toei has not announced whether Dragon Ball Super will end or move to a new timeslot.
The video introduces the new GeGeGe no Kitarō cast. Many of the cast members, listed below, have appeared in previous anime adaptations of GeGeGe no Kitarō, but none are reprising roles.

Yukiyo Fujii (Sailor Moon Crystal's Sailor Saturn) as new character Mana Inuyama
Toshio Furukawa (Dragon Ball Z's Piccolo) as Nezumi Otoko
Umeka Shōji (Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters' Eri Karan) as Neko Musume
Kappei Yamaguchi (One Piece's Usopp) as Ittan Momen
Bin Shimada (Dragon Ball Z Kai's Babidi) as Konaki Jijii, Nurikabe
Mayumi Tanaka (One Piece's Luffy) as Sunakake Baba
Kōji Ogawa is serving as series director while Hiroshi Ohnogi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) is handling series composition. Sorato Shimizu is the character designer and chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail) and -yaiba- (Naruto Shippūden) are composing the music. Fuji TV, Yomiura Advertising, and Toei Animation are producing.
The first anime adaptation's 50th anniversary website had announced earlier this month that the franchise was getting a "new project."
The manga, which began in 1959 under the name Hakaba Kitarō, has spawned seven television series (including one Hakaba Kitarō anime), several animated movies, and two live-action films. The stories center on an inhuman boy who straddles the line between the human and supernatural worlds.
Characters from the franchise recently appeared in the Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: Oni-ō no Fukkatsu (Yo-kai Watch: Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King) anime film, which opened last month. Masako Nozawa, who has voiced the main character Kitarō in some of the manga's numerous anime adaptations, reprised the role in the film.
