March screenings of 2004 film to include Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS English dub preview

Fathom Events announced on Thursday that it will screen Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie in United States theaters on March 11 and March 12. The screening will also include a "sneak peak" of the English-dubbed premiere of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.

Screenings on Sunday, March 11 will be at 12:55 p.m. local time and screenings on Monday, March 12 will be at 7:00 p.m. local time. Both days will have the English dub.

Warner Bros. and 4Kids produced Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie as an American original film based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. It opened in the United States in 2004 and later aired in Japan as a TV movie in 2005. Fathom Events describes the story:

In “Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie”, a heroic Yugi squares off against archrival Kaiba in an adventure even more dangerous when the imaginary monsters in their playing cards become ferociously real… and when an old evil enters the fray. Who will win this ultimate smackdown? Whether you're a novice Duelist or a professional, you'll want to watch and find out!

Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, the sixth television anime in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, premiered in Japan last May. Crunchyroll later began streaming the series as it airs. Crunchyroll describes the story:

In “Den City” where the latest network has developed, people were dueling day and night in the VR world called "LINK VRAINS" managed by SOL Technology Inc. The main character, Yusaku Fujiki is a quiet high school student with a great insight. He has been dueling, transforming himself into his avatar "Playmaker", to battle the "The Knights of Hanoi” that plots to destroy "LINK VRAINS".

The series is ongoing in Japan; the 38th episode will premiere on February 7.
