Eureka 7: Hi-Evolution Cinema Release Cancelled

posted on by Andrew Osmond
First film in trilogy will only have home release

Writing in the forum of the Anime UK News website, Andy Hanley of Anime Limited said there were 'no wider theatrical release plans' for the first Eureka Seven: Hi - Evolution film, following its screening at the 2017 Scotland Loves Anime. However, there will be a home release of the film, and possibly further festival screenings.

Andrew Partridge of Anime Limited also referred to the second part of the Eureka Seven: Hi - Evolution trilogy, saying 'I don't think it's a spoiler to say you could expect the follow-up at SLA (Scotland Loves Anime) this year too.'

The print magazine Neo had previously reported that the first Eureka Seven: Hi - Evolution film would have a UK cinema release in the first quarter of 2018, distributed by Anime Limited.

The first film depicts The First Summer of Love phenomenon that occurred a decade before the first Eureka Seven series. In general, the films will have the same basic story as the first Eureka Seven series, but there will be an original ending. The trilogy will have completely re-recorded lines, redone footage, and new scenes.
