Servamp Anime Film's Trailer Reveals New Cast Members, OLDCODEX Song

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for Gekijōban Servamp: Alice in the Garden, the anime film based on Strike Tanaka's Servamp manga, began streaming a trailer for the film on Thursday. The trailer reveals additional cast members, and previews the film's theme song "One Side" by OLDCODEX.

The additional returning and new cast members include:

Atsumi Tanezaki as Otogiri

Kazuya Ichijou as Mikado Alicein, Misono and Mikuni's father

Kouji Takahashi as Eisuke Dōdō

Ayaka Fukuhara as Mitsuki Usami, Mikado's assistant

Other additional cast members include Ayaka Nanase as Yuri, Sayaka Senbongi as Mari, and Mai Nakahara as the "mysterious 'girl.'"

The film will open in Japan on April 7.

The film's story will deal with Misono Alicein's past. The main cast from the television anime will reprise their roles. Hideaki Nakano is returning to direct the film at Platinum Vision, and Junko Yamanaka is again designing the characters. Ayumu Hisao (Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) is replacing Kenji Konuta to write the script.

Tanaka launched the series in Monthly Comic Gene in 2011, and Kadokawa published the manga's 11th volume in December. Monthly Comic Gene is listing that the manga has 1.5 million copies in print. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in North America, and it published the manga's 10th volume in August. The company describes the manga:

When a stray black cat named Kuro crosses Mahiru Shirota's path, the high school freshman's life will never be the same again. Kuro is, in fact, no ordinary feline, but a servamp: a servant vampire. While Mahiru's personal philosophy is one of non-intervention, he soon becomes embroiled in an ancient, altogether surreal conflict between vampires and humans.

The manga resumed last April after an announced hiatus in January 2017 due to pain in Tanaka's intervertebral disk and shoulder. Tanaka has since recovered.

The manga inspired a television anime in July 2016, and Funimation streamed the series with English subtitles and an English dub. Crunchyroll began streaming the series last October.
