Crunchyroll Streams 'You don't know GUNMA yet.' Anime

posted on by Egan Loo
Streaming of comedy anime began on Saturday

The media service Crunchyroll announced on Saturday that it is streaming the television anime shorts based on Hiroto Ida's You Don't Know Gunma Yet (Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai) manga as they air in Japan. Starting this weekend, Crunchyroll is streaming a new episode every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. EDT worldwide except in Asia.

The comedy manga centers on Nori Kamitsuki, who moves from Chiba Prefecture to a fictionalized version of Gunma Prefecture northwest of Tokyo, and the story focuses on Gunma's culture. Before moving to Gunma, Kamitsuki only sees that the prefecture has a fearsome reputation on the net. Upon moving, he soon makes contact with the people who hold a strong love of Gunma's culture.

Mankyū (The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō) is directing the anime at Asahi Production (in collaboration with CJT) and supervising its series scripts. Tomonori Kogawa (Densetsu Kyojin Ideon, Aura Battler Dunbine, Xabungle) is designing the characters. Aya Uchida is contributing the song "So Happy" as the anime's ending theme song.
