Golosseum's Yasushi Baba Launches Ride On King Manga
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The June issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine revealed last Thursday that Yasushi Baba will launch a new manga titled Ride On! King in the magazine's next issue on May 26. Baba posted a visual for the manga (seen right in image below) as seen in the magazine last Thursday.
The magazine teases the manga's story as centering on Aleksandr Bruchinov, the president for life of the country of Brugia, a country ruled by violence and the influence of its government. Aleksandr always desires to be dominant, and "ride" things, whether literally or figuratively. Now that he has already ridden his country, his next target is a fantasy world that has orcs, wyverns, and centaurs.
Baba recently ended his Golosseum manga in the 37th issue of Nemesis — the supplementary magazine of Monthly Shonen Sirius — last December. Kodansha published the manga's sixth and final compiled book volume on February 9. Baba launched the manga in Nemesis in February 2015. Kodansha Comics has licensed the manga for North America, and it will release the first volume on May 22.
