Lupin III: Part IV Released Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also My Hero Academia Season 2 Part 2 and Yu-sibu

On Sunday June 11, Anime Limited will release the series Lupin III: Part IV on May 28 as a Limited Edition Blu-ray. This is the Lupin the Third series made in 2015, set in Italy, and should not be confused with the new series screening in spring 2018 (Lupin the Third: Part 5, set in France).

The Blu-ray edition will contain the series on four Blu-ray discs, including the two OVA episodes “Venice of the Dead” and “Non Rendezvous”. It will also contain a 60-page art book and an o-card slipcover.

The set will be subtitled only. According to Anime Limited, "When the series was dubbed into English, the Dub was created utilising the Italian broadcast video assets, not the Japanese broadcast video assets. This meant that there were differences between the two... Because there are differences between the two versions in terms of video footage it was simply not possible to include both language options on a single Blu-ray release."

However, a dubbed edition of the series will receive a later release on standard Blu-ray, exclusively through the AllTheAnime website. No release date for this edition is confirmed yet. Buyers of the subtitled Blu-ray of the series through the AllTheAnime website or from an AllTheAnime exhibition stand at an event will be able to buy the subsequent dubbed edition for only £10. This offer will not apply if you buy the subtitled Blu-ray at any other retailer. For more details on this offer, see here.

Sony Pictures will release My Hero Academia Season 2 Part 2 on Blu-ray and DVD.

MVM will release the anime adaptation of Jun Sakyō's Yūsha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shūshoku o Ketsui Shimashita. (Yu-sibu) light novels. In the story, a boy named Raul did not get a chance to become a Hero, since the demon lord was already defeated just before his Hero exams. His dreams dashed, Rauru spends his days working at a Magic Shop in the capital. One day, a part-time job seeker appears at the shop with an amazing résumé: The work comedy revolves around this former Hero-in-training and the daughter of the demon lord.

Kinji Yoshimoto (Genshiken 2, Queen's Blade 2: The Evil Eye) directed the anime at studio asread (The Future Diary, Shuffle!). Tetsuya Takeuchi (Yomigaeru Sora - RESCUE WINGS -) adapted Masaki Inuzumi's novel illustrations for the animation character designs, and Masashi Suzuki (Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox, Shuffle!, Oda Nobuna no Yabō) was in charge of the series scripts.
