Live-Action JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Released Monday

On Monday August 27, Manga Entertainment will release the live-action film JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond wa Kudakenai Dai-Ichi-Shō (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable Chapter I) on DVD. The director was the prolific filmmaker Takashi Miike (live-action Terraformars, Ace Attorney, Crows Zero, Yatterman, For Love's Sake, Ichi the Killer). The film was shot in Sitges, Spain and Japan.

The cast includes Kento Yamazaki (Orange, Your Lie in April, Heroine Shikkaku, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, live-action Death Note television) as Jōsuke Higashikata, and Ryunosuke Kamiki (Howl's Moving Castle, The Secret World of Arrietty, Bakuman., Rurouni Kenshin Part II: Kyoto Inferno) as Kōichi Hirose.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable is the fourth part of Hirohiko Araki's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure manga. The story is set in Morioh, located in S City in M Prefecture of Japan, and it follows the misadventures of Jōsuke Higashikata and his companions, as they are involved in a series of bizarre incidents in their town. Araki serialized the fourth part of the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1992 to 1995.

Anime Limited will release Aoharu x Machinegun on Blu-ray and DVD. Hideaki Nakano (Baccano!, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Golden Time episode director) helmed the anime series at Brains Base (Durarara!!, Natsume's Book of Friends), with scripts by Kenji Konuta (Library War, Ace of Diamond). Junko Yamanaka (Detective Conan films, You Are Umasou, Kamisama Kiss 2) designed the characters and also served as chief animation director.

The soure manga follows high school student Hotaru Tachibana, a girl disguised as a boy. Through strange circumstances she finds herself drawn into the world of survival games by a host, Masamune Matsuoka. The two form a team with ero-manga artist Tohru Yukimura and aim to be the be the best in Japan.

NAOE began the series as a two-part short and then premiered the full series in Square Enix's GFantasy magazine in January 2013

MVM will release Bakuon!! on Blu-ray and DVD. Sentai Filmworks, which licensed the series in America, described it as follows:

'Moe and motorcycles have never looked better together in this sports comedy about a group of students in the motorcycle club of their all-girls school. When Hane Sakura sees the wild-hearted Onsa Amano riding a motorcycle to school, Sakura is inspired to join the motorcycle club and get her license. However, nothing could have prepared her for the challenges, or the joys, that come with hitting the road on the wings of a real bike!'

Junji Nishimura (Simoun, Dog Days, GLASSLIP) directed the anime at TMS Entertainment, and Kurasumi Sunayama (Gunslinger Girl, Monster, Romeo × Juliet) was in charge of the series scripts. Isao Sugimoto (Sketchbook ~full color'S~, Girls und Panzer, Moonlight Mile) designed the characters, while Manabu Nii (Samurai Flamenco, Karneval) was credited for sub-character design.
