'Sono Toki, Kanojo wa.' TV Anime Reveals Ending Theme Song

Mei Fukuda performs cover of "Maji de Koi Suru 5-byō Mae"

The official website for the "Sono Toki, Kanojo wa." ("She's in love") short television anime revealed on Monday that Mei Fukuda (voice of AIKO) will perform the ending theme song "Maji de Koi Suru 5-byō Mae," which will be a cover of Ryōko Hirosue's 1997 song.

In addition, the anime will have an art exhibition at the Marui store in Yūrakuchō, Tokyo from October 6 to November 9 and at the Marui store in Hakata, Fukuoka from October 26 to November 18. The exhibition will display original art and production materials from the anime, as well as art from Eisaku Kubonouchi's other works. The event will offer exclusive merchandise.

The cast includes:

Mei Fukuda as AIKO

Nao as Moe

Riho Takada as Yukari

Maaya Uchida as Miwako

Wataru Urata as Yūta

Akira Takano as Tomonori

Yoshihiko Aramaki as Kōsuke

Tonari no Sakata. as Tecchan

Hikari Sonoyama, Tomoyuki Matsui, Yuki Yomichi, Nobuhiko Adachi, and Tokage Watanabe are also part of the cast with as-yet unrevealed roles.

Susumu Banba is directing the short anime. As previously announced, Eisaku Kubonouchi is credited as the original creator and character designer. Writer and essayist Saeri Natsuo is writing the script, and Master Lights is credited with the production.

The anime will premiere on KBC and GyaO! on October 6 at 24:35 and 25:00 (both effectively on October 7 morning), respectively.

The theme of the anime is "a picture book (anime) to fall in love with." The anime will take place in Fukuoka, and will follow the love lives of four female protagonists as high school students, college students, and as working adults.

The project will also screen at the "Focus on Asia: Fukuoka International Film Festival 2018" event in the "Fukuoka Panorama" category.

Kubonouchi is known for the Chocolat, Cherry, and Tsurumoku Dokushinryō manga, as well as for the character designs for the "Hungry Days" Cup Noodle commercials. Chocolat inspired a live-action Taiwanese television adaptation in 2013.
