Fujifabric Performs Ending Song for Real Girl Anime's 2nd Season

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
2nd season premieres in January

The official website for the anime based on Mao Nanami's Real Girl (3D Kanojo) manga revealed on Thursday that the band Fujifabric will perform the ending theme song "Hagan" (Broad Smile) for the anime's second season.

The new season will premiere in January and will air on NTV's "AnichU" programming block.

The first season premiered in Japan on April 3 and aired for 12 episodes. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series and HIDIVE streamed the series as it aired. Sentai Filmworks will release the first season with an English dub. The company has also licensed the second season.

Takashi Naoya (Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) directed the anime at Hoods Entertainment (If Her Flag Breaks, Drifters, Märchen Mädchen). Deko Akao (Flying Witch, Noragami, After the Rain) was in charge of series composition. Satomi Kurita (Hina Logic - from Luck & Logic) designed the characters.

The josei manga follows Hikari "Tsuttsun" Tsutsui, a high school boy who is satisfied with the virtual girls he encounters in anime and games. He does not have many friends and he lives in his own world. One day, when he is stuck on pool cleaning duty, he is approached by Iroha, a "real girl" who is showy and popular with boys.

The romantic comedy manga ran in Kodansha's Dessert magazine from July 2011 to May 2016, and Kodansha published the series in 12 compiled volumes. The manga has 1.2 million copies in print. Kodansha Comics is releasing the manga digitally in English.

A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan on September 14.
