M&C! Licenses City, 'My Hiro, My Sensei' Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Watari Sakō's Micro The Cupid Dog manga also licensed

Indonesian publisher M&C! announced on Wednesday that it has licensed Keiichi Arawi's City, Fuyu Amakura's My Hiro, My Sensei (Hiro-kun ga Sensei), and Watari Sakō's Micro The Cupid Dog (Osewagakari wa Mamanaranai). M&C! will begin releasing all three manga on February 27.

M&C! describes City:

Midori Nagumo spends all her money on failed bets on the races, and is thus unable to pay the rent for her apartment. Forced by her circumstances to steal the Haniwa statue at the Makabe restaurant, she was caught in the act by the son of the restaurant owner. To make amends, Nagumo was ordered to work part-time at the Makabe restaurant. How will her life continue? And what of the stories of the Makabe family, the police officers, the magazine editors, and other residents of the city?

Arawi launched the ongoing manga in Kodansha's Weekly Morning magazine in September 2016. Kodansha published the manga's sixth compiled book volume last November.

Arawi previously drew the Nichijou and Helvetica Standard manga. The Nichijou manga inspired a TV anime by Kyoto Animation in 2011.

M&C! describes My Hiro, My Sensei:

Since she was little kid, Nao has liked Hiro, her older neighbor who has often helped her out in her studies. But before Nao could say anything about her feelings to Hiro, he had to move to Tokyo. A few years later, Hiro made a sudden return and became Nao's homeroom teacher? Will Nao be able to say her feelings now?

The manga collects four short manga by Amakura that tell stories centered on relationships between childhood friends. Kodansha published the book in December 2016.

Micro The Cupid Dog centers on Tōka, an 18-year-old woman who moves to Tokyo and lives alone for the first time. She strikes an arrangement to take care of the landlord's dog Micro in exchange for a rent-free unit in the apartment. She begins happily decorating her apartment with her shonen and doujin manga, as well as anime merchandise. But she ends up getting to know Oku, a man who is also charged with taking care of Micro.

Sakō launched the manga in Kodansha's Dessert magazine in November 2016. Kodansha published the manga's second and final compiled book volume in September 2017.

M&C! previously published Sakō's Bus Guide Story (Bus Guide Monogatari), Love All, and The Goddess of Libra (Megami no Libra) manga.
