Anne Watanabe stars in July show about woman's "forbidden encounter" while on vacation

NTV announced on Thursday that it is producing a live-action television series adaptation of Akiko Higashimura's Gisō Furin (Disguised Adultery) manga that will premiere in July. Anne Watanabe (seen below) will star in the series as main character Shōko Hama, a part-time worker in her thirties and living with her parents.

The manga's story begins when the protagonist goes vacationing abroad after tiring of dating, and has a "forbidden encounter" with a handsome man on the plane.

Yūma Suzuki and Seiichi Nagumo is directing the live-action series, with scripts by Rin Etou. Norihiko Nishi is credited as chief producer, and Shōshun Katō, Masahiro Mori, Kazunori Okada, and Tetsu Takei as producers. Kowa International is credited for production assistance.

Higashimura launched the color web manga on the web manga site XOY in December 2017. The manga moved to the LINE Manga service in January when XOY closed on January 18. Bungei Shunju published the manga's second compiled book volume on February 28, and the third volume is slated for April 25.

Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish and Tokyo Tarareba Girls have both previously inspired live-action adaptations. Kodansha Comics is releasing both manga in English.
