Comic Writer, Manga Adapter James Hudnall Passes Away

Comic writer and manga adapter James Hudnall (James D. Hudnall) passed away this week. He was 61.

Hudall is known for contributing to various Marvel Comics and DC Comics works. He began his career with Espers from Eclipse Comics in 1986. He also contributed to Superman, Legends of the Dark Knight, and Chiller. X-Files producer Chris Carter adapted Hudnall and Andrew Paquette's Harsh Realm into a one-season live-action television series in 1999. Hudnall was recently working on the crowdfunded comic Agenda with Matt Cossin.

In addition, Hudnall adapted the Macross II manga into English and wrote the Macross II: The Micron Conspiracy comic. Other manga he adapted include Super Street Fighter II Cammy, Area 88, Mai the Psychic Girl, Silent Möbius, and Golgo 13. Hudnall was a letterer for Angel Sanctuary and Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy.
