The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime's English Dub to Have 2-Week Delay

Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that its streaming of The Rising of The Shield Hero anime's English dub will have a two-week delay, beginning with the show's 19th episode until the end of the show's second half, due to "unforeseen circumstances." The new schedule for the dub is as follows:

  • Episode 19 - May 19
  • Episode 20 - June 5
  • Episode 21 - June 12
  • Episode 22 - June 19
  • Episode 23 - June 26
  • Episode 24 - July 3
  • Episode 25 - July 10

The series premiered with a two-hour special on January 9 and will run for 25 episodes.. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan. The series was scheduled to launch on Crunchyroll with English subtitles on January 9, but Crunchyroll streamed the first 45-minute English-subtitled episode early on January 5.

Crunchyroll and FUNimation Entertainment originally announced plans to debut the English dub on January 9, the same day the show premiered on AT-X in Japan. However, the staff announced on January 8 that the dub would be delayed. The first six dubbed episodes then premiered on February 13, and subsequent dubbed episodes debuted on the same days as the English-subtitled episodes until now.

Crunchyroll also announced that it has added the following anime to its catalog:

Honey and Clover and Honey and Clover II debuted in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Both television anime adapts Chica Umino's manga of the same name. Viz Media released both anime on DVD in 2009 and 2010.

Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX is a 22-episode anime series that premiered in 1982 as a sequel to the Arcadia of My Youth film that debuted earlier the same year. Discotek released the anime on DVD in July 2017.

The 1989 Goku: Midnight Eye anime adapts the manga by Buichi Terasawa. Yoshiaki Kawajiri directed the anime. Discotek released the series in July 2017. Urban Vision previously licensed the anime in North America.

The 26-episode Nagasarete Airantou series from 2007 adapts Takeshi Fujishiro's manga of the same name. Streaming service Daisuki previously offered the anime in 2016. Discotek licensed the anime, and will release it on Blu-ray Disc on May 28.

The Legend of Black Heaven television anime debuted in 1999. Geneon Entertainment released the anime on DVD from 2000 to 2001.
